11 Reasons to Consider Yourself First

What would you say if I encouraged you to be selfish? (Gulp!) I know, most, if not all of us, have grown up in societies that encourage us to assist with other’s needs first before tending to our own. However, its important to consider yourself first!
Here’s a little secret. We can’t give what we don’t have! While it is technically possible to perform an “act of service” from a position of lack, this giving is really from “sacrifice” (a lower vibration) and can lead to more personal depletion at best and resentment at worst. However, giving from overflow is of high vibration and feels good! This is just one reason to be selfish and to fill yourself up first! But I digress.
Why do I say that feeling good is a lifestyle? I have found that tending to my personal “feel good” or “high vibration” is the most important thing for me to do as I have realized that my experience flows according to my “base vibration” or how I feel. If I “feel bad,” whatever I’m doing get’s colored by that feeling. If I encounter a challenge, it’s that much harder to navigate it because I have little reserve.
So, what I have learned to do is to be aware, moment by moment, of how I feel. (I actually feel that I have set up a helpful subconscious program that helps me to monitor the way I feel.) It may seem that it would be exhausting, but it really isn’t. It’s just an underlying awareness.
The key is that when I feel my base vibration or “feel good” is being disrupted, I check in with myself as soon as I notice the upset to determine the root cause. There could be multiple root causes to feeling bad actually.
For instance, my thinking may not be helpful, I could be experiencing unsupportive “conditioning” or subconscious programs, I may have “trapped emotions” or triggers stored within my body from past challenges or traumas that have become active, I may have simply walked in a public place and picked up on the energy of the environment or the crowd, my chakra energy system could be out of alignment and balance, and I could even have an outside “dark energy” that is trying to influence how I feel, just to name a few.
The great thing is all of these things (and more) can be resolved with your awareness, a little training and with the help of your Spirit Team! (Your Spirit Team is the benevolent nonphysical beings from The Light who are here to help you such as your guardian angel(s), Archangels, Masters like Jesus or Krishna and many others, guides, and even potentially loved ones who have crossed over.)
Here are eleven Truths to contemplate that feeling good and yes, even being selfish or tending to your own needs first, is the most important thing you can do:
1. Literal Feeling: Maintaining a high vibration literally feels good. Once you develop the practice of (your spirit) feeling good in your body, it’s almost impossible to ignore upsets.
2. Law of Attraction: The better you feel, the higher your “vibration” or “frequency.” The higher your vibration, the more you are a “vibrational match” to “what you want.” In other words, feeling good brings more feeling good and the things you want to you!
3. Reserve: By assuring you live in a high vibration, you have significant reserve you can utilize when challenges are encountered making them easier to navigate.
4. “Happy” Experience: When you feel good, you can do about anything and have a happy experience, or at minimum, be content.
5. Relationships: When you are clear that the most important thing is how you feel, you may shift how you relate with others as you find it is more important to “feel good” than to be right.
6. Compassion: As “feeling good” becomes your guide and you resolve your own personal internal issues, you become more discerning and aware of other’s internal issues. Compassion arises out of understanding our common human condition.
7. Energy: When you are feeling good, you have natural energy to live life.
8. Connection: By maintaining a high vibration, you are naturally more receptive to guidance and direction from The Universe and / or your Spirit Team.
9. Mind: When feeling good becomes of utmost importance, one recognizes mind (thoughts) and becomes the observer of thought as opposed to being swept away by them. In other words, you don’t “identify” with thoughts. You just notice them.
10. Decision Making: When deciding to “do” anything, by using “how it feels” as a guide, decisions become clearer and more accurate.
11. Spiritual Teacher: Monitoring how you feel can be a very effective spiritual teacher as you learn to navigate and resolve “energetic” issues while interacting with your Spirit Team.
A lifetime of living can cover up your natural Peace. However, by noticing “upsets” to how you feel and resolving them, your natural Peace can - not only be restored - but sustained!
Consider shifting your lifestyle to making “how you feel” of utmost importance. This isn’t tracking an emotion, but literally your base underlying feeling. (Hint – your base feeling emanates from your heart. Check there if you are having trouble fully determining how you feel.) I am confident by doing so you will experience profound improvement!

In the meantime, Peace, Love & Light!
